At the trailer launch of Azaad, Abhishek Kapoor, the director of the film, shared more insights into the debutants, Rasha Thadani and Aaman Devgn, and their remarkable qualities that made them perfect for their roles. Speaking with admiration, Kapoor compared both actors to unique, inspiring entities—Rasha, with her layers of depth, and Aaman, with his calm, collected presence.
Talking about Rasha, he said, ""Rasha is like a rose. The more you peel off, the more you discover. There’s so much to her . She has so much to offer, and that’s something we truly realized as we went along. Initially, the film didn’t quite have the scope to do justice to everything she has within her, but as we progressed, I realised she could dance as well. Though I did not have a dance number to showcase her talent,but I made a way for it.
Kapoor further emphasized Rasha’s infectious energy, which radiates positivity and is evident in her every action. "Her energy is infectious. It’s positivity that you can see emanate in her personality."
On Aaman Devgn, Kapoor spoke highly of his natural acting ability and described him as someone who brings a sense of stillness and focus to his work. "Aaman has a quality where he can listen, and for an actor, that is incredibly important. He has this stillness, this 'thehraav,' that allows him to truly connect with the moment. That’s a rare quality."
Kapoor also praised Aaman’s self-assured nature, attributing it to his upbringing. "He has inherited a lot of qualities from his mama, Ajay Devgn. There’s no insecurity in him. He’s completely present in the moment."
With both Rasha and Aaman showing such promise, Kapoor’s belief in their potential only strengthens.
